Tenemos la tentación de tomar la gloria por nosotros mismos, pero tenemos que recordar que Dios y solo Dios merece la gloria. Cada aplauso le pertenece a Él, y toda la gloria le pertenece a él”.
Humberto creció en México y se enamoró de Jesús por primera vez cuando tenía 15 años, escuchando una canción que se cantaba en la iglesia a la que asistía. Aunque en ese momento carecía de conocimientos musicales, tuvo un profundo deseo de vivir su vida para Jesús, sirviéndole en todo lo que pudiera. A Humberto se le presentó la oportunidad de dirigir musicales de la iglesia y, aunque no sabía nada sobre esto, accedió a hacerlo. Terminaron teniendo mucho éxito y Humberto comenzó a darse cuenta de un profundo amor por la música.
Simultáneamente, Humberto también estudiaba para ser ingeniero, y la música era simplemente un pasatiempo. No mucho después de graduarse de ingeniero, Humberto tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a la Escuela Nacional de Música de México. Aunque no había estudiado música, se sintió impulsado por Dios a hacer una audición, y milagrosamente fue aceptado.
Después de graduarse de la Escuela Nacional de Música, Humberto y su familia se mudaron a Montreal para que él comenzara un programa de dirección allí, mientras continuaba trabajando como ingeniero. Después de aprobar su programa con gran éxito, aceptó una oferta de trabajo de ingeniería en Calgary en 2013.
Al llegar a Calgary, Humberto se puso en contacto con el pastor David Klob para ver si había un lugar para que él sirviera con FAC Music. Y, bueno… como dicen, ¡el resto es historia! Humberto y su esposa ahora sirven juntos en la orquesta, con Humberto dirigiendo y su esposa en la sección de percusión. Su oración es que la música que Dios les permita crear tenga un impacto eterno, similar a la experiencia de Humberto en la iglesia cuando tenía 15 años.

Humberto grew up in Mexico, and first fell in love with Jesus when he was 15 years old, listening to a song that was being sung in the church he attended. Though he lacked any musical knowledge at the time, he had a deep desire to live his life for Jesus, serving Him in whatever way he could. An opportunity arose for Humberto to direct church musicals, and though he knew nothing about the task, agreed to do it. They ended up being very successful, and Humberto began to realize a deep love for music.
Simultaneously, Humberto was also studying to become an engineer, with music simply being a hobby. Not long after graduating as an engineer, an opportunity came up for Humberto to attend the National School of Music in Mexico. Though he hadn’t had any schooling in music, he felt prompted by God to audition, and miraculously was accepted.
After graduating from the National School of Music, Humberto and his family moved to Montreal for him to begin a conducting program there, all the while continuing to work as an engineer. After passing his program with flying colours, he accepted an engineering job offer in Calgary in 2013.
Upon arriving in Calgary, Humberto contacted Pastor David Klob to see if there was a place for him to serve with FAC Music. And, well … as they say, the rest is history! Humberto and his wife now serve in the orchestra together, with Humberto conducting, and his wife in the percussion section. Their prayer is that the music God enables them to create will have an eternal impact, similar to Humberto’s experience in church as a 15-year-old child.
