2024 Annual General Meeting

A meeting of the members of First Alliance Church of The Alliance Canada will be held:

Sunday, November 17, 2024

7:00 pm, Auditorium, FAC Deerfoot Campus
(12345 40 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta)

for the purpose of:

  • receiving financial and other reports
  • electing members to the Board of Elders
  • electing members of the Nominating Committee
  • appointing an auditor

– by order of the Board of Elders

Everyone is welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting; however, only those holding membership are eligible to vote.

Members unable to attend can submit a proxy ballot (see below under Resources to download) before Sunday, November 17, 2024 (drop off at the Information Desk at FAC Deerfoot / FAC Southwest or email Cathie Hall). If you’re attending online, a live stream will be offered on the day of the AGM through the button below:

Report of the Nominating Committee

Nominations for the Board Of Elders
for 2024-2026

An elected elder may serve up to 3 two-year terms sequentially and must sit out at least 1 year before being eligible to serve as an elder again. After a thorough, prayerful process, the Nominating Committee recommends the following names for a 2-year term commencing Fall 2024*:

  • Charles Ang (3rd Term)
  • Andrés Gutierrez (2nd Term)
  • Arnold Schellenberg (2nd Term)
  • Oludamilola (Dami) Adebayo (1st Term)

Elders serving to Fall 2025:

  • Luisa Castiblanco (1st Term)
  • Brad Emery (3rd Term)
  • Brian Hargreaves (3rd Term)
  • Jason Sawers (2nd Term)
  • Susan Kinnie (1st Term
  • Olumide Obafemi (2nd Term)

Nominating Committee Members:

Craig Jones, Rick Robson.

Provision is made for the addition of names to the Report of the Nominating Committee in Article V of the Church Bylaws:

ARTICLE V – ELDERS

The Nominating Committee shall be comprised of seven (7) members, including the Chair. The Nominating Committee shall follow due process to identify and nominate members for vacant positions of the Board and the following year’s Nominating Committee. Any Church Member may submit a name to the Nominating Committee for consideration by providing such name in writing to the Chair of the Nominating Committee by June 30 of each year.

Nominations for the 2025-2026 Nominating Committee*

After a thorough, prayerful process, the Committee recommends the following names be placed in nomination to serve on the Nominating Committee for a 1-year term commencing Fall 2024:

  • Merril Humphrey
  • Erik Kaack
  • Becky Mensah
